Privacy Policy

1. Our commitment to privacy


This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) sets out how Two Blues Solar (TBS, we, ours, us) uses and protects the information about you (personal data) that we may collect about you or that you provide.


It also explains the legal rights that you have in relation to your data and how you may exercise these rights.


We will process your data for the following lawful purposes: with your consent; to fulfil our contractual obligations to you; and where there is a legitimate interest to do so.

2. The type of personal information we collect


We currently collect and process the following information:


  • Your name, job title and company name
  • Your business email address
  • Your phone number


3. How we get the personal information and why we have it

  

We process personal data that is provided to us directly by you for the purposes of discussing a potential power purchase agreement with your business or for us to fulfil our contractual obligations to you once you become a client. 


We also receive personal information indirectly from other publicly available sources such as social media, corporate websites, related industry websites and online directories. 


We may use the personal data that you provide to us or that we receive from third parties in the following ways:


  • Direct marketing purposes: where you have expressly consented to us doing so in accordance with applicable law, you have purchased services from us or we otherwise have a legitimate interest or legal right, we may contact you by telephone or electronic message (e.g. email or SMS) for the purposes of providing information on our services. If you wish to update your Personal Data or opt-out of receiving further marketing communications from us, please just email us to let us know: info@twobluessolar.com


  • Email tracking: we may include small pixel tags (small image files) within the emails we send you in order to determine whether our emails are opened and/or whether the hyperlinks inside our emails are clicked through. We may also collect browser, location and the device used to engage with our email communications. This information allows us to better understand whether we are meeting our users’ needs and how we can improve our communications. No other information is collected. You can opt out of receiving our direct marketing emails either by following the instructions in each email, or by contacting us at: info@twobluessolar.com


  • Transactional purposes: we     may process your Personal Data to provide you with the information that you request from us and to carry out our obligations arising      from any contracts entered into between you and us, (such as a Power Purchase Agreement) which may include transferring your information to other organisations (see section headed ‘Disclosing Personal Data to Third Parties’ below).


  • Legal compliance: to comply with any relevant legal obligations


  • Internal administration and analysis: to process your job application; to administer our database; to measure or understand the effectiveness of any direct marketing we serve to you.


4. Disclosing personal data to third parties

  

We may disclose your personal data to third parties in the following situations:


  • To third party partners who enable us to fulfil our contractual obligations to you through the provision of solar installation, maintenance services and funding;


  • To third party partners who help us by providing services such as technology, legal, marketing, advisory or other services;


  • To a purchaser of the business or business assets: if Two Blues Solar, its business, or its assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by it about its users, suppliers, or customers will be one of the transferred assets;


  • Referees or employers: if you are enquiring about a job, or making an application, then we may disclose your personal data to third parties such as your referees, or current and previous employers (if you ask us to contact them).


We always aim to ensure that personal data we pass to third parties is used by them only for lawful purposes in accordance with this Privacy Policy.


5. Retention periods

  

We have a data retention policy that ensures we don’t use or store your personal data for longer than is necessary. We consider the following issues to determine retention periods:

  

  • Guidance from the UK Information Commissioner or other regulatory agency, or industry best practice recommendations;


  • The business rationale for collection and expiry of the purpose for which personal data was collected;


  • Our ongoing ability to ensure the accuracy of the data;


  • Legal and regulatory requirements.


6. Legal obligations

  

We collect and process your Personal Data in accordance with applicable laws that regulate data protection and privacy. This includes national laws implementing the EU Data Protection Directive (95/46/EC) and from 25 May 2018 the EU General Data Protection Regulation (2016/679), also commonly referred to as “GDPR”.


For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998 (the ‘Act’), the data controller is Two Blues Solar Limited whose company number is 14070522 and registered address is 5th floor, 14-16 Dowgate Hill, London, England, EC4R 2SU.


7. How we store your personal information

  

Your information is securely stored in our customer relationship management database. We are committed to keeping your personal data secure and we will take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data from loss, unauthorised use, disclosure or destruction.


8. Your data protection rights

  

If you gave us consent to process your personal data, you can withdraw it at any time. In addition, you may object to our processing of your personal data where we rely on legitimate interests to do so. You may contact us at info@twobluessolar.com to exercise these rights. In addition, you have the right to request access to, deletion of, or correction of the personal data we process about you, which you exercise by contacting us at info@twobluessolar.com. 


You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.


Please note that we are not required to rectify or erase your data where doing so would prevent you from meeting your contractual obligations to us or where we are legally required to retain copies of your Personal Data.
