Ennovi is a global designer and manufacturer of precision-engineered components, predominantly serving the automotive industry with a core specialism in the fast-growing electric vehicle (EV) market. Ennovi has been driving its internal sustainability programme since 2019. This on-site rooftop solar installation marks the latest step in that decarbonisation journey.

On-site solar was a logical step for our sustainability goals, giving us more control over our operational costs. Two Blues Solar made the process effortless. Their fully funded model meant we didn't need to invest our own capital, leaving it free for other priorities across the business.

Andy Morgan, Financial Controller at Ennovi

Overview

Two Blues Solar partnered with Green Shield Group to deliver an 818 kWp rooftop solar PV system at Ennovi's manufacturing site in Arbroath. The array is made up of 1,798 modules across multiple roofs, supported by nine inverters.

The project is delivered through a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement on a Pay-as-Consumed model, giving Ennovi low-cost, zero-carbon electricity with no upfront capital outlay. The system is expected to generate 630,000 kWh annually, supplying around 17% of the site's electricity demand. With expected self-consumption of 88%, the system will deliver an estimated £1 million in energy savings over the life of the agreement and will cut carbon emissions by 111.6 tonnes each year.

Ennovi is exactly what the fully-funded model is for. A site with high daytime demand gets cheaper, cleaner power from day one, and the capital they would have spent on solar stays in the business.

Our Process

Two Blues Solar worked in close partnership with solar installer, Greenshield Group, to collectively manage everything from  initial feasibility and grid applications through to installation and commissioning.

Greenshield Group ensured that deliveries were scheduled around the site's own logistics, rooftop works were carefully staged to avoid any impact on production, and a dedicated on-site coordinator gave Ennovi's facility managers a single point of contact throughout.

Two Blues Solar will continue to provide long-term support to Ennovi throughout the 25-year agreement, with live solar generation monitoring, proactive maintenance and regular performance reporting.
