What is a Solar Power Purchase Agreement?

Two Blues Solar pays for the installation, operation, and maintenance of a solar PV system on your site. You simply pay for the electricity it generates at a rate lower than the grid at either a fixed or inflation-linked price.

How a Solar PPA works: Three simple steps

01

We Fund

We cover 100% of the procurement, installation and ongoing maintenance costs of on-site solar.

02

You Consume

You buy clean power at a fixed, low rate, protecting you from market volatility.

03

We Manage

We maintain, monitor, and insure the system for the entire 15-25 year term – so you get clean energy without the overhead

Our recent projects

Who we’ve helped

Scott Lawson, PU Manager at Kanthal

“Adding solar to our energy mix has given us greater long-term stability over our energy costs by reducing our exposure to rising electricity prices. The fully funded model meant we could move forward without any capital outlay, while also supporting our broader sustainability goals by cutting our carbon footprint. “

Frequently asked questions

A Power Purchase Agreement is a way to go solar with no capital cost. We fund, install, own and maintain the system on your roof or land, and you simply buy the clean electricity it generates — at a rate below what you pay the grid.

Nothing upfront. We cover 100% of the design, equipment, installation and ongoing maintenance. You only pay for the energy you use, so you start saving from day one without touching your capital budget.

We do for the length of the agreement — which means the performance risk, maintenance and insurance all sit with us, not you. At the end of the term, ownership of the system transfers to you, so you carry on getting free, clean electricity for the rest of its life.

Yes. Your PPA rate is set below grid prices and is fixed or inflation-linked for the term, which protects you from volatile energy markets. Before anything is signed, we model the numbers for your specific site at no cost, so you can see the saving before you commit.

Our typical position is that we stay on the roof for the next occupier and often find that this can be a key selling point of the building. We will also build in a buy out clause should you or the future occupier wish us to remove the system from the building.

The best fit is a commercial site with high daytime electricity use and a decent roof or area of land. If your roof needs work first, we can often fund repairs or replacement as part of the project. The quickest way to find out is a free site assessment.

It varies by site, but a typical project runs around 4–7 months from first assessment to switch-on, with the design and legal stage being the longest part. We manage the whole process so it stays off your plate.
