PPA or asset finance. Which is right for you?

Both routes get solar on your roof with no large upfront payment. The difference is in project risk, contract term and how you pay.

Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)

We own and maintain the system and take on all project and performance risk. You pay for the electricity it generates at a rate lower than the grid. Terms of 15-25 years. PPAs suit energy-intensive or multi-site businesses who will benefit from solar investments of £200K+ and want to avoid any debt on their balance sheet.

Asset Finance

You spread the cost over an agreed term of 3- 7 years with fixed monthly payments. You are responsible for procuring and maintaining the asset. Asset finance is suited to businesses who require reasonably small solar systems or want to own and control the asset.

Why businesses choose asset finance for solar

Manage your cash flow

Spread the cost of your investment over an agreed term rather than committing capital upfront, freeing your budget for other priorities.

Predictable payments

Fixed monthly payments make it straightforward to plan and budget, no surprises over the life of the agreement.

Short term contracts

Ownership of the asset typically transfers to you at the end of the 3-7 year term.

Full control

You choose the installer and the eqipment and take on all risks and rewards of ownership.

Asset finance options available

Through our partnership with Siemens Financial Services, we can offer a range of finance structures to suit your specific requirements.

Hire Purchase

Fixed monthly repayments over 3–7 years, with a nominal fee to purchase the system outright at the end of the term. VAT is payable at the outset, and the client typically qualifies for capital allowances including the Annual Investment Allowance.

You select the installer and equipment; the funder pays on completion or via milestone payments.

Finance Lease

Fixed monthly repayments over 3–7 years, with the option to extend or transfer ownership at the end of the term. No VAT is payable upfront; lease rentals are treated as an operating expense rather than a capital purchase.
