About us

Two Blues Solar was founded by Daniel Levene and Dillon Cane after they spotted a problem hiding in plain sight. Working across commercial warehouse development, they kept seeing the same thing. Vast buildings with hundreds of thousands of square feet of roof space, and just a handful of solar panels on top.

When they dug into why, the answer was simple. Despite the compelling case for solar, there was insufficient financial incentive for either the landlord or occupier to spend their own capital on it. The payback period wasn't compelling enough, capital was needed elsewhere, and without someone to fund and manage the whole thing, nothing happened.

So they built Two Blues Solar to solve exactly that problem.

Our Mission

Two Blues Solar exists to make commercial solar happen, where it otherwise wouldn’t. We remove every barrier between a business and its energy potential, whether that means funding the project through a PPA, arranging asset finance, providing expert project management and consultancy, or managing the asset long after installation.

Our clients get cheaper, cleaner energy without any of the usual complexity. No upfront capital, no technical burden, no distraction from their core business. Just solar that works — funded, built, and managed by us.

Our Team

Daniel Levene

Co-Founder & Director

Daniel has led teams across banking, property, renewables and operations in the UK and Asia. He brings a valuable combination of financial expertise and sector knowledge that sits at the heart of the Two Blues model. Daniel is currently Co-Chair of the Energy Markets Steering Group for Solar Energy UK.

Dillon Cane

Co-Founder & Director

Dillon’s background spans real estate development, funding, construction and engineering across the UK and New Zealand. His experience navigating complex property structures and capital markets directly informs the way Two Blues approaches landlord, tenant and owner-occupier relationships.

Rachel Stark

Commercial Director

Rachel brings over 20 years of commercial leadership experience across B2B and B2C environments, including client relationship management and investor relations. She leads Two Blues’ commercial operations, ensuring every client relationship is managed with the expertise and rigour it deserves.

Dan Gilbey

Business and Operations Manager

Dan holds a Land Economy degree from Cambridge and brings experience from operations consultancy and the sustainability sector. He joined Two Blues in 2025 and works closely with the founding team across a broad range of strategic and operational initiatives.

Sam Newman

Technical Manager

Sam is a qualified engineer who spent seven years working across the roofing and solar industries in New Zealand. He leads the technical delivery of Two Blues’ projects, with recent work including large-scale solar feasibility assessments for major telecoms and education providers.

Kieran Sheehy

Marketing Manager

Kieran brings experience across digital marketing, PR, social media and design, most recently at a high-growth business insurance scale-up. At Two Blues, he leads the marketing function, building the engine that connects Two Blues’ solar and finance solutions with the businesses that need them most.

Freddie Marsh

Data Engineer

Freddie studied Engineering Mathematics and joined Two Blues to scale the business’s operational efficiency. His work focuses on integrating AI tools with existing data systems to develop automated workflows across the organisation.

Our Funding

Two Blues Solar funds projects through a joint venture partnership with True Green Capital Management (TGC) who are a specialist renewable energy infrastructure fund manager with operations across the US and Europe.

Founded in 2011, TGC has deployed capital into over 900MWp of solar power plants across 18 US states, the UK, and France. Their team has a proven track record of originating, financing, constructing, and operating distributed renewable energy projects at scale.

For our clients, this partnership means certainty. The capital behind your project is institutional, long-term, and backed by one of the most experienced renewable energy fund managers in the market.

Two Blues Solar is active in both the UK and New Zealand, helping organisations to remove the barriers to onsite renewable generation. As the business grows, we are expanding our geographic reach and our suite of funding and finance solutions to serve more businesses across more markets.
